Meet the Team

Our practice comprises 3 full time and 2 part time veterinary surgeons who are assisted by eight full time veterinary nurses, animal nursing assistants and support staff. We also have several nursing students on placement with us from time to time.

Our team of experts are always on hand to help with any problems you may encounter. Each of our vets has their own areas of interest, offering a breadth of expertise and knowledge to ensure the best level of care for you and your pet at all times.

Veterinary Surgeons

Mr Bill Wooton

  • Qualifications: BVMS MRCVS and Practice Principal
  • Full Time Veterinary Surgeon

Bill graduated in 1975 and joined the clinic when it was located in South Street and known as Low and Waterston. Soon after, he entered into partnership with Mr Waterston and the clinic name changed to Waterston and Wooton. In 1989 the South Street practice was demolished to make way for the multi-storey car park and the practice moved to its current site on North Street and became Kingdom Veterinary Clinic. Bill is now the Practice Principal. He has an interest in "exotic pets" such as reptiles and is trained in acupuncture and dentistry.

Mrs Michelle Morton

  • Qualifications: BVM&S CertAVP(SAM) MRCVS 
  • Part Time Veterinary Surgeon

Michelle joined our team in November 2011. She previously worked in a mixed practice in Norfolk. She graduated in 2008 and lives locally with her husband and her cat Puck. She has recently completed a certificate in Small Animal Medicine. Michelle has recently returned to work part time after having her son.

Mrs Diane Watson

  • Qualifications: BVM&S MRCVS PgC(SAM)
  • Part Time Veterinary Surgeon

Diane graduated in 1998 and, despite a short spell of locum work, has worked for the practice since then. She currently works part time. She lives locally with her Husband and children as well as her 2 guinea pigs Patch and Ginger. Diane currently works Wednesday to Friday and particularly enjoys challenging medical cases. She has recently completed a post graduate certificate in Small Animal Medicine and is registered as an "Advanced Practitioner" with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Mrs Andrea Drummond

  • Qualifications: BVM&S MRCVS
  • Part Time Veterinary Surgeon

Andrea graduated in 2001 and has worked for the practice since then. She currently works Monday to Wednesday. Andrea lives locally with her Husband and three children who share their home with feisty Border Terrier Oz.

Dr Donald Smart

  • Qualifications: BVM&S MRCVS
  • Full Time Veterinary Surgeon

Donald graduated in 2018 and began working for the practice shortly after.  He has a particular interested in cytology.

Dr Silvia Levorato

  • Qualifications: DVM MRCVS
  • Full Time Veterinary Surgeon

Silvia is originally from Italy and came to work for the practice in April 2018.  She has previously worked at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh.  She has a special interest in Anesthesiology. 

Support Staff

Mrs Hilsa Doyle

  • Qualifications: RVN
  • Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse

Hilsa joined the practice as an evening receptionist/nurse in 1990. In 1996 she became a full time Nurse. Having trained as a 'human' nurse prior to having her family she eventually re-trained and is now a qualified RVN. Hilsa currently lives with her Husband and whippet Fizz. Together with Marisa and Michelle, Hilsa runs many of our popular nurse clinics.

Mrs Marisa Mitchell

  • Qualifications: BSc Hons Veterinary Nursing
  • Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse (Maternity Leave)

Marisa joined the practice in September 2011 having moved from Paisley. She trained with the College of Animal Welfare in Middlesex and graduated in July 2007 with a BSc Honours in Veterinary Nursing. Marisa now lives in Fife with her Husband Michael and cats Bagheera and Elmo. Marisa is currently on Maternity leave after giving birth to her daughter.  We look forward to her coming back in 2019.

Miss Ashley Doyle

  • Qualifications: 1st Class BSc Hons Fashion Technology
  • Full Time Receptionist/Nurse

Ashley joined the practice in September 2010 after graduating from Heriot Watt University in June 2010. Although studying to become a fashion technologist Ashley has had a lifelong interest in the veterinary profession and has always gravitated back to working with animals. Eventually she would like to study to become a qualified Animal Physiotherapist. Ashley lives with her flat mate and cat Sushi.

Mrs Cathy MacIntosh

  • Qualifications: MLC Hom, Dip Vib Med
  • Full Time Book-keeper

Cathy joined the practice in October 1979 and has been with us ever since. She is a qualified Homeopath (human) and a Vibrational Medicine Practitioner. She lives with her Husband Ken and cats Percy and Peggy.

Miss Michelle Rhind

  • Qualifications: RVN
  • Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse

Michelle is a qualified veterinary nurse and works both reception and behind the scenes. Michelle lives with her 2 cats Magic and Mischief and enjoys keeping fit in her (limited) spare time. 

Mrs Charlene Taylor

  • Qualifications: HND (Animal Care)
  • Full Time Receptionist/Nurse

Charlene is the newest member of our reception team. She has completed an NC, HNC and HND in Animal Care and is studying to become an Animal Care Assistant. She lives locally with her husband, daughter and cat Dougal. 

Mrs Margaret Greig

  • Part Time Receptionist

Margaret came back to work after taking a break to raise her children.  Margaret can be found smiling at the reception desk on weekday mornings.  Margaret lives locally with her 3 children, husband Trevor, whippet Sawney-Bean, cats Vader and Mouse and chicken Kip.

Mr Iain Murray

  • Part Time Receptionist

Iain works part time on reception in the afternoon and evenings.
